Is SMGB Legit or a Scam? An Honest Affiliate Review Before You Buy

Disclosure: I’m an affiliate for SMGB. I took the course, and I may earn a commission if you enroll through my links — at no extra cost to you. I’ll still give you the honest picture, including the red flags to check.

Typing « is SMGB legit or a scam » before buying is exactly the right instinct. The online-course world is full of hype, so skepticism is healthy. Here’s my honest answer as an affiliate who actually paid for and completed the Self Made Girl Boss Academy.

I’m Sonia, e-commerce entrepreneur since 2014. I’m an affiliate of SMGB (created by Joanna), not its founder — and yes, I earn a commission. That’s exactly why I’ll show you how to judge it for yourself instead of just saying « trust me. »

Short answer: is SMGB a scam?

No — SMGB is a legitimate training program, not a scam. A scam takes your money and delivers nothing. SMGB delivers a structured digital-marketing course, lifetime access, an active 6,800+ community, and — since July 2026 — real CPD accreditation (200 points), which a scam simply cannot get.

But « legit » doesn’t mean « guaranteed to make you money. » Those are two different things, and honest reviews should never blur them.

What makes SMGB legit

  • Recognized accreditation: CPD accreditation is an external, verifiable standard. Scams don’t pass it.
  • A real, active community of thousands of members you can actually talk to.
  • Transparent deliverables: you know what you get — the modules, the updates, the access.
  • No fake income guarantees in the honest version of the pitch. Results depend on you.

The fair criticisms (so you go in clear-eyed)

  • Like any course, it only works if you apply it. Buying ≠ succeeding.
  • Income results vary a lot and can’t be promised — anyone promising fixed numbers is the real red flag.
  • It’s an affiliate-driven program, so you’ll see lots of enthusiastic promotion online (including mine). Read past the hype and check the concrete deliverables.

How to judge ANY course before buying (SMGB included)

  1. Is there verifiable accreditation or third-party proof? (SMGB: yes.)
  2. Are the deliverables clearly stated? (SMGB: yes.)
  3. Does it promise guaranteed income? (SMGB: no — good sign.)
  4. Is there a real community and support? (SMGB: yes.)

Run any online course through those four questions. It’ll protect you far better than any single review.

My honest verdict

SMGB is legit — a serious, accredited program, not a scam. Whether it’s worth it for you depends on your commitment, not on the course’s legitimacy. If you’re ready to put in a few hours a week, it’s a solid, honest choice. If you want guaranteed money for no effort, no course on earth is for you.
